blanche and stella

I said I would animate the bird didn't I, I wanna do better animation. I didnt quite like the beginning of the scene, but I did like her drama. I hope its not just my opinion, I worked hard on this, and it was fun :)
P.S. I used a line from a streetcar named desire
Hope you like it!

Looking at it now, I feel like I did it a bit too fast...

Human lip synch

Hello again! So I hope people like this,I worked hard on it. The line he says is from the movie Saving Private Ryan, which I hadnt watched before doing this assignment. But I chose the line like that on purpose, so I could have some freedom applying some of the stuff we learned in acting class :)

All I knew about this movie was that it was about a soldier, so I thought about the many things that could make a soldier say these words in this tone of voice, and tried to make him remember those things when he was speaking. I also did some reasearch on real life world war II, and vietnam soldiers. I hope I did a good job. Although the software messed a bit with me :/

3D animation... I did better than I expected

So, hi! I know It's been a while, but you know... life happens and all that. Anyway apparently my 3D skills are better than I thought they were. I was really scared before touching maya for the first time, and I didnt understand anything! but I got used to it and I guess its coming :)
I have two assignments to show. I apologize for youtube's bad quality

Dog walk!

My teacher said it was almost perfect, and it made me really happy cause it was all thanks to... this thing...

This next one I dont like so much, but It was fun to try and do a whole little scene

New W(y)ork

Nah I havent been to New York in a while, but it sounds like a nice place for an animator. Judging from what my teachers had to say, New York was a good place to make connections and work as an animator. I dont know if it still is.
Either way, I'm alive! I've had tons of work, some of which I want to work a little bit more on before posting it.
Most of what I have today is animation, not amazing, but I put a lot of hard work into it. Also a new character. Any name suggestions for him are welcome.

First is my wave/boat/sack assignment

Now my nameless character, he's an Axolotl. And they could get extinct in their habitat! So whenever you visit Xochimilco be nice to the environment please.

Now, my lift and toss animation! to which I hope I can add more details after christmas (something good might come under the tree this year...)
This was also my very first time using flash for a frame by frame, drawing by drawing, animation. My hand hurt like crazy! But I hope to get better at working digitally.

last two of the year

I havent posted anything for a while... I know, but for some reason all my posting inspiration has left me. Anyways here are my last two animation assignments of the year

this one is the flour sack which was supposed to be the first assignment of the 2nd year...

and there's a new one. In sequence. I was absolutely burnt out while working on this. I wish the me of now would give some advice to the me that was working on this back then. But, learning from your mistakes is partf of one's life~
I did have fun drawing this character though

Misa walk

This was supposed to be my dog walking, and don't get me wrong it does look like her when she's wet. But I think I'm gonna spend the summer animating eyes and walk cycles.

It doesn't look so bad, the walk works, but just doesn't get me into the "feeling." Probably cause I was really burnt out when finishing this. The first year is coming to an end so fast, and my energy is dropping at the same speed. I guess the other thing I'll do during the summer is work on getting a stronger mind and body. hehe, it sounds so meditational... but I hope it can help me stay in shape when working 18/7 (that's right my body wont let me pull all nighters)
whatever here's my girl, sorry for the quality... youtube...

lady and the animation

My latest animation assignment
MIAO! or Meow, depending on your language. We had to do an existing character with his or her head rotation, saying miao, and making an expression. And I chose Lady! I love dogs, and Lady and the Tramp, along with the Little Mermaid, and a certain video game were my turning point in deciding what to do with my life. So yeah it was fun, challenging, its hard to stay on model, and there werent many model sheets on lady, so its working with what you have. Also, I think I need to work more on my timing, I feel like I do the actions go too fast. Anyway here it is

walk combo!

So for this assignment I had to do a walk cycle using the pink panther (which I dont own) and another walk cycle for my hippie character that became a ballerina

I learned a few things from this: 1) make a walk cycle that fits your character design 2) go easy on you if you havent done a walk cycle before 3) avoid "realistic proportions" on your first walk cycle. Learn from my mistakes.

end of the term animation

Animation! one class where I'm doing good, I wish I'd had more time to work on the ball toss, but I had so much work during that moment. The timing was so hard on this one!

And here's my baby, a ball with a tail, this one I like better. And I think its cute  :3

more animation ^o^

Makes me happy I'm doing something I think looks decent, and my teacher this time thought so too cause I got a great mark. I was so happy! this assignment was about using s and c curve. They're a little hard at the beginning, but at some point I guess they start coming out of you a bit more naturally.

For this one you deal with perspective and it was hard, and I'm not too good with the logic of how things move. I'm just glad I was able to make it right in the end :)

Mati ghost

His name is Mati, but I have to work on making my characters more loose. I love how everyone else's characters are so spaghetti like. This guy is supposed to be a ghost; however, I had to show weight and mass on him, so I gues he's not dead yet. I hope you can get his personality on his poses :)

I personally think character design is not one of my best, so I want to try and improve it.
Any advice?

balls... and character

So I finally finished my first four animations! :D
I dont love these two, but I worked really hard on them, and I guess the "learn from your mistakes" thing does apply here. Now here are my balloon and my bowling ball, aaaaand dear lord I just saw something I have to fix on the balloon... if I have time....

Also, I finished my character rotation of Goldilocks (the pupet/bear on the blog's banner) it took me like a month less on work than the character I did for my portfolio. I have no idea how did this happen, but I even think it looks decent. The only things that bother me are the line quality and the feet on the front view. I hope my teacher likes it too :/

the beginning

Sooo school has started, and its a lot of work! I won't lie, I saw it coming, and I'm liking it so far, but I need to improoove! there are so many talented people (but they're really nice people too)
Anyway I tried practicing with my tablet to make a drawing for my country's independence day, and yes I'm not good in photoshop, but the practice'll make you better^^

And also... I did my very first animation!!! It was the bouncing ball. For many people its like ¨a bouncing ball, boring, whatever...¨ but for me is a big breakthrough! I also did a bowling ball, a ballon, and a pendulum, but I might do some changes to the first two so I'll just show you the bouncing ball and the pendulum.
